All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JESSE HERMAN JARRATT Jesse Herman Jarratt, 75, a farmer of the Capron community, died in Louise Obici Hospital, Suffolk on Thursday afternoon, November 12, after a brief illness. A member of the Capron Baptist Church, he was the son of the late William and Mattie Hammond Jarratt of Sussex County. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Virginia Judkins Jarratt of Capron; four sons, C.T. Jarratt, Herman Jarratt, Jesse L. Jarratt and William Jarratt, all of Capron; two daughters, Mrs. Mattie L. Jarratt of Sussex C.H. and Mrs. Bennie Gordon of Gray, Sussex County; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, James J. Jarratt of Emporia and George Jarratt and J.A. Jarratt, both of Sussex County. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Capron Baptist Church. Officiating in the absence of the pastor, Rev. H.B. Jennings, were Rev. Williams Stennett of Emporia and Rev. J.T. Cassell, pastor of the Capron Methodist Church. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland. Active pallbearers were Wilbur Fuller, Benjamin Jarratt, Dallie Jarratt, Ernest Jarratt, Johnnie Jarratt and Waverly Jarratt.
